The Australia Foundation Gala Dinner, presented by Qantas, welcomed guests for the
second year running to The Peninsula, London. A celebration of Australian Music was the
theme of the event, with Daniel Koek and his team dazzling the crowd with toe-tapping
Australian hits and Brayden Davies, Head Chef at The Box Tree curating a menu inspired by
specific Australian songs.
The Theme
Celebrating Fashion & Design
The theme for the Gala was Celebrating Australian Music, guests were encouraged to
vote for their favourite Aussie dance track which kicked off the disco at the end of the
evening. Imagery from Sounds Australia, APRA AMCOS, Tait Memorial Trust, FANZA and
The Australian Music Foundation were shown on screen, showcasing some of the incredible
work they have done to champion Australian talent within the UK. We were also incredibly
fortunate to showcase the work of Tony Mott, Australia’s premier rock and roll photographer.
We were proud to have Brayden Davies create the menu for this year’s gala, a project
developed over many months and rooted in his Australian heritage. Now Head Chef at The
Box Tree, Brayden’s refined, produce-led cooking celebrates provenance and seasonality.
An ambassador for Aussie Beef & Lamb, his menu paired exceptional Australian ingredients
with music and storytelling, bringing a deeply personal culinary vision to life.
Daniel Koek, renowned for his powerful yet lyrical tenor voice and compelling stage
presence, provided the entertainment for the Gala. With musical direction and
accompaniment by Ollie Lincoln and backing vocals by Australian musicians - Alex Given
and Jessica Condon. Guests enjoyed a range of Australian iconic hits and toe tapping
songs, that provided a true celebration of Australian Music.
